Transfer portal in baseball is risky business

The baseball transfer portal has been open for one week.

With his team not participating in the NCAA tournament, LSU coach Jay Johnson has been able to focus solely on acquiring players from the transfer portal.

The Tigers have picked up two transfers – Gonzaga pitcher Landon Hood and Texas State shortstop Dawson Park. Hood was the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year. Park was not on the Texas State roster during its appearance in the NCAA tournament.
